Our belief at Arizona School of Yoga is that our own body already contains all the information and wisdom we need for a happy healthy life. Yoga is the participation in our own life. Teaching yoga allows people to take an active role in health and well-being on all levels. The journey into teaching always begins with the teacher as a student. Teaching yoga is a beautiful and healthy way to serve humanity. It requires commitment and the celebration of life.
If this is your calling, congratulations and welcome! Our Teacher Training program is uniquely designed to take students into a personal revolution that enables “one” to teach from their own experience.
This is the only Program in Tucson like this! Students will be encouraged and supported to utilize their own gifts to teach yoga artistically and authentically. As teachers in training you will learn techniques and ultimately use our skills and knowledge of the body through self understanding and personal development. This program and your personal practice will initiate an honest and truthful inventory of oneself. We will use this experience as a foundation to grow in our practice and our teaching. You will learn how to read and speak to people’s bodies.
Our program meets and exceeds the requirements for a registered yoga teacher (RYT) at the 200 hour level through the Yoga Alliance.

Here’s what some of our 2010 Graduate’s had to say!
“Words cannot describe how the yoga teacher training changed my life. This
training is unlike any other in that it does not just teach you the poses
and their names. It also shows you how to be more authentic and make
changes in order to improve your life all around. I found out more about
myself in those few months than I thought I ever could. It really exceeded
my expectations and has given me more passion to share yoga with others. My practice also improved greatly.
To say that the Arizona School of Yoga is exemplary is an understatement. I
am a better person for have taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity!”Amy Rogers January Program 2010
“My experience with the Yoga Teacher Training Program has been life changing and I want to thank you for making that possible. I truly appreciate your positive and caring intentions, expertise and design of a space where transformation can occur for me and others. You have helped open my heart and mind in a more deep, reflective and loving way to myself and others.”

“I am so grateful for Arizona School of Yoga. I was hesitant to sign up for yoga teacher training. I thought I wasn’t good enough or young enough. I was also concerned about the time commitment. Sometimes you just have to take a chance in life and words really can’t express how much I got out of teacher training.I expected to learn how to teach yoga, I expected my personal practice to improve, I expected to learn about alignment and anatomy and all this happened. What I didn’t expect was a total personal transformation. I am a completely different person. At times I do not even recognize myself. My life has truly transformed.I always thought of myself as a cynical New Yorker, but through teacher training and yoga I have learned that I am actually a positive, upbeat and content person. I can’t even believe these words describe me but they do. A real life changing experience.”

The yoga teacher training program at AZPY has turned out to be one of the greatest gifts I could have ever given myself. I wanted to overcome my fear of public speaking and improve my personal practice by learning about anatomy and alignment. At first I was apprehensive, yet decided to take a leap of faith. I’m so glad I did. This was an amazing opportunity to discover myself, restore my dreams and visions as well as connect with some incredible people. I was able to confront my fears and learn that I had the power to overcome them. Once the fear was gone, I was surprised to discover that I had an intense desire to teach and share yoga with others; a desire I never even knew existed. Joseph and Chelsea have inspired me, and their leadership and dedication to this program are truly amazing. They encourage their students to be real and teach from their hearts. I would like to encourage others to take part in this life transforming experience!”
Mary Dotson January Program 2010
The teacher training at AZPY was very inspirational to me. I was very new to yoga, less than 6 months , and was not really sure what to expect. I gained strength, flexibility, spritual awareness and valuable tools for focusing attention and staying focused. I am continuing to grow by taking additional courses to become a powerful and inspirational teacher. This was a career and life changing decision and I am glad I had the oppurtunity to begin the journey at AZPY.

All of us know we have ideas and attitudes that limit us, that block our growth, and diminish our strength, but we cannot get rid of them. Arizona School of Yoga Teacher Training turned all of them around for me. This training program quite simply was the most profound experience of self-care that I’ve ever given myself. I originally took the training to deepen my yoga practice and, hopefully, get into better shape. But once I started studying with Joseph Lauricella, I could not believe the opportunity before me. Joseph is truly a yoga master and, during the training, he showed the deep possibility and power of yoga and what this science and art offers a person. He helped me develop a clear understanding of the body, an effective yoga practice, and a transforming attitude that really replaced self-doubt with self-confidence and fearlessness. He showed me how power yoga truly increases life, healing, creativity, awareness, and self-appreciation. By the end of the training, I was so excited about experiencing the real, effective, affirming power of yoga, that I truly wanted to instruct others in it. I want to share the goodness of this yogic journey that Joseph imparted.
Rev. Gregory Wiest Redemptorist Renewal Center July Program 2010
Teacher Training at Arizona Power Yoga was so much more than I had anticipated. I began with the desire to deepen my practice and acquire the communicative skills that would enable me to share the incredible gift of yoga with others. I quickly discovered that this was an epic, all encompassing experience. Joseph & Chelsea skillfully and compassionately helped each of us turn our focus inward and begin to explore our internal climate and start to recognize how that shapes our external environment. We were able to release holding patterns and behaviors that were no longer useful, and were hindering our personal growth and power. This internal cleanse ultimately resulted in a balanced platform to move from, and affect positive change in the world around us. This program is about yoga in the most intimate sense, a passage into personal power and the results are amazing and far reaching. Cristin Burns July Program 2010
